Wind Energy Teacher Workshop – Tulsa

Hey all you wind energy enthusiasts. There’s a new wind energy educators workshop coming up soon and locally!

The teachers workshop is being held April 10, 2010 (8:30‐4:00) at the Community College in Tulsa.

Wind has captured our imagination for eons. You can learn more about wind and introduce your your minds to the science behind this fast growing energy resource.

The workshop is FREE. It’s just ONE day and is designed to appeal to middle/high school science and technical education teachers interested in renewable energy, physics, engineering and design.

No knowledge of wind energy is required to attend the course.

Participants will learn the basic principles behind wind energy and how to introduce students to wind energy concepts using standards‐based activities in an engaging, hands‐on manner. This course includes a tour of the DMI wind turbine tower manufacturing plant in Tulsa.

Over $75 worth of classroom materials and a comprehensive curriculum package are included free of charge in the course. Space is limited to the first 30 teachers that sign up. You can register online at http://www.kidwind.org
