Green Seal promotes green and environmentally friendly products and practices. Green Seal works with many different industries including the hotel industry.

Green Seal works to certify properties that meet or exceed the Green Seal environmental standard, GS-33.

For a property to qualify they must demonstrate sustainable practices in water use and recycling, energy efficiency, conservation and management, hazardous materials as well as environmentally friendly purchasing.

Certification includes an evaluation, an on-site audit as well as annual monitoring to ensure continued compliance. The GS-33 standard recognized three levels of accomplishment, Bronze (entry level), Silver, (meets a more comprehensive level of compliance) and Gold, (meets additional requirements)
