Green Tea & Weight

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

According to a study conducted by The University of Birmingham (UK) green tea can increase the amount of fat burned during your exercise program. Looks like green tea, and green tea extracts can be your best fat burner.

Research showed a 17 percent greater fat burn during exercise when green tea was consumed, compared to a placebo.

Your fat metabolism actually improves whether you’re using a green tea extract or drinking green tea.

The active ingredient in green tea is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). It’s a powerful antioxidant.

To be certain that you’re getting the best from your green tea, make sure that the color is actually ‘green’ and not a muted brown. Tea turns brown as it oxidizes so for green tea, you want the greenest green you can buy.

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Recent reports are telling the world that green tea is good for you. But didn’t the more natural ones of us already know that?

Green tea is simply the young leaves of the tea plant, camellia sinensis.

The Chinese have used tea, especially green tea, for thousands of years. It’s been used to aid many health issues such as high cholesterol, headaches, Alzheimers, relieving blood clots, fat burning and other metabolic issues and for depression.

More recent studies have touted green tea as good for some cancers.

Wouldn’t it be great if nature could dispel those Mesothelioma doctors and oncologists through the simple addition of green tea to the diet?

More studies are in order before the medical community will accept the viability of the powers of the antioxidants in green tea.
