This week, California is adopting the states first statewide green building code and is thinking about a plan to pay Californians to cut their energy usage.
It’s proposed that fees on greenhouse gas emissions be returned to those customers in the form of dividends, much the way an electric co-op functions. It’s also considering adopting a green building code that will reduce water usage, require construction waste be recycled and the enforcement of energy efficiency in homes, and public buildings.
It’s a good time to be green and live in California.
