Control Works of Canada has devised a method of harvesting the downstroke on the pump an feeding it back into the system.

Tests show that an average pumpjack can produce about 5kw and would result in energy savings of about a quarter. The oil companies can continue to produce much needed oil at a savings. That helps make oil and oil products cheaper for everyone.
