Giant Solar Factory Shines

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

One of the BIGGEST solar panel factory in the world opened recently. The formerly defunct plant, in Australia, was rescued by a nuclear energy research company. The recovered plant will product over 10,000 solar panel systems a year.

The plant is expected to employ about a hundred people. The new panels produced there will ‘outshine’ the old panels and convert a higher percentage of solar energy to usable power.

Choose Energy Efficient Lighting

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Remodeling? Building new or just looking to update the look in your home?

As long as you’re replacing a light fixture you should not only look for new and up to date styling you should also aim for higher energy efficiency.

Suppose, just suppose that you were going to add a new light fixture to your entryway. If I were to choose one today, out of all the chandelier lighting, I’d pick this one:

Dover

IS THIS NOT GORGEOUS?

It’s stylish, it’s ’so’ today AND it’s energy efficient! It’s a beautiful way to bring new life to an entryway.

I love walking into someone’s house and seeing a large prominent light. It shows they care about lighting and style and always brings a smile to my face. I’m ignoring tables, chairs and paintings as my eyes are drawn upward.

(And so are the corners of my mouth!)

And what about these golden lights that are sure to give off a warm glow?

This kind of pendant light would be perfect in the kitchen, maybe across the top of the bar/or dining counter… These are glass dipped in chips of colored glass that’s blown and swirled. It accepts low voltage halogen lights too!

Energy efficient lighting can save you money on your utility bill too. But the most pleasure will come from just using them!

I love to add a touch of whimsy in every room. Sometimes it’s very subtle and sometimes I’m really bold with it.

I think these alessi magnetic salt and pepper shakers will stand out AND make people laugh at them, once they ‘figure’ out what they are.

Aren’t they cute? Their feet are magnetic and they ’stick’ to the pole!

Imagine a guest asking ‘Where’s the salt?’ when it’s right in front of them!

FUN!
