France has jumped on the solar bandwagon, big time.
EDF Energies Nouvelles and First Solar, Inc. recently announced plans to build the largest solar plant in France. They will make solar panels with First Solar’s thin film photovoltaic technology. Initial capacity is expected to be more than 100 megawatts.

One of the benefits of homegrown energy, whether it’s solar or wind is the ability to sell the overage to the utility company.
One company in the Midwest wants to make money off that fact. They want to charge customers that don’t use enough energy a fee.
Hopefully their customers will put an end to that silly notion. Who ever heard of charging for ‘not’ using something?
